Hey everyone....this is my first time posting, even though I have been reading the posts for a while. I had Mirena put in a little over 3 years ago. I didn't notice too many symptoms right away besides the constant normal bleeding.
Last year, about this time, I began having difficulties with back spasms. It started in one spot. My doctor gave me some muscle relaxers and a steroid shot. It was better for a couple days, and then the pain spread. I was given patches to put over the area to numb the pain, muscle relaxers, and loritabs. After taking a series of medicines, I was still in a lot of pain and it just continued to get worse.
Then, around New year, I started having problems with muscles in my throat pulling. I couldn't get a full breath. It was a very uncomfortable feeling.
Also, I had bouts where my intestines stopped working. I had to go to the ER and have all kinds of tests, give myself enemas, eventually got to the point where I had colonoscopies and every GI test possible. They couldn't find anything.

It wasn't until a couple months ago that I even thought about my Mirena. I was doing some searching on the internet and found this group. Wow...I couldn't believe I was reading about women going through the same things as myself.

My doctor couldn't get me in until today. I just left the doctor's office Mirena free. I know that the next little bit will be difficult, but I'm glad I have some straight forward answers here!
