This is a reply to # 1,515,875It's possible if you want to give it a try. I've never used a liquid bandage, but I doubt it would help. Those are usually for small cuts while this is a callus. I don't think that it would do much. It is a good thought, though. - Re: Liquid bandage? ec2yrak

i think it sounds like a good idea...when the cycle first begins and the lip is pretty raw underneath the skin lacks protectin. I've heard a scab being compared to a 'really ugly natural plaster' which attempts to keep out bacteria etc. maybe if you use this bandage a crust won't need to form?- Re: Liquid bandage? #68716

This is a reply to # 1,516,204Bandaid is a brand name and Bandaid has a bandage called Liquid Bandaid. You can find it at any drugstore. Maybe it might come in another brand name. It is made to apply on bleeding, unhealed wounds so the lips fit in that category. It is a clear coating you apply over the wound. I was thinking it might keep moisture from lipstick (etc) from getting on unhealed area so it will not get that white gunk on lips.
But maybe we will not have to think of liquid bandaid if the dish soap works. I am going ot try the dish soap before the liquid bandaid.

This is a reply to # 1,516,204I was just at CVS. There was not a big selection of dish soaps. I bought Palmolive Antibacterial Orange Scent Dish Liquid. I wanted to get the unscented original green colored one, but it did not read antibacterial.
I looked for the liquid Bandaid, but it was not at CVS. However, I saw it at Rite Aid a few days ago. Large grocery stores probably have more of a selection. You can get it online, too.- Re: Liquid bandage? The Ronin

This is a reply to # 1,517,579I think I looked through all those liquid bandaid products and they all say to keep away from the mouth. Now the Compeed cold sore patch JasmanUK did is much more intriguing to me.
Unfortunately, the product isn't sold in the US as far as I can find--the only thing with the same hydrocolloid material is for blisters doesn't stay on the lip at all and has an adhesive that will just rip the frail lip skin off (I tried).
So anyone else in the UK with some money to spare who wants to try the Compeed brand patches I think it's a great idea with some positive results already.
