I tried the Carpal Solution device. It does work, although I found the foam pad/bandage tape combination of which it is made unable to provide enough pulling-out force on the heel of the hand to provide full relief. I used their idea of pulling up on the skin over the transverse ligament to construct a device that, after 4 months of nightly use, eliminated my CTS symptoms and has now kept them away for 18 months with no sign of their return! You can construct this "splint" for a few dollars (contrast that with the pricey Carpal Solution) out of athletic tape ("Coach tape" used to wrap sprains), folded paper spacers/tensioners, and the sides of clear plastic juice bottles. I may post them here also when I type them up in the next few days (Oct. 21, 2009).
