I've been using Urine Therapy internally and externally for about 5 years with very positive results. I just got some lab results back and my B12 was low. Urine does have B12 in it. But I wonder if anyone knows if it can be absorbed? As a 100% raw vegan for 7 years (no supplements or fortified foods), I never gave B12 much thought. But the more I read, the more I realize none of us are really vegan. There are microscopic and tiny animals we consume on our fruits and vegetables all the time. We just don't notice them. There has never been any documented cases of people raising their B12 with spirulina or other planted based foods...unfortunately. I would love if this was possible.
Now I don't drink all my urine and I eat way too much protein. And protein can block vitamin absorption, not sure how it affects B12. So I thought if I decrease my protein intake, drink all or near all my urine, I wonder if that could raise my B12 levels from low to average or good?
If this doesn't work, raw liver or raw insects seem to be the best sources. Being animal based you have to be really careful as to their source and their living environment.
If you are vegan and don't consume fortified foods you WILL have this problem. B12 is only stored for a few years. Its not a matter of if, its a matter of when. Get tested to make sure. Apparently the blood test is easiest/cheapest/most convenient but is the most innacurate, especially for vegans. The MMA (methylmalonic acid) test is supposed to be the best,

and the homocysteine is next best. Then find a solution that works for you.
Any input for this seldom discussed, yet common problem would be most appreciated. (This affects meat eaters too as they can have B12 absorption issues.)
