My daughter-in-law found out she is not supposed to use any herb that is hepatic with her implant Implannon. Is Nettle Leaf considered hepatic? She has been using bitters as well - are they ok? Hv, thank heaven we have you to ask! Thanks in advance.

Nettle does support the liver, but does not cleanse it. Bitters do cleanse the liver, and this is what has to be avoided. Cleansing the liver increases its capacity to break down hormones, including those used in birth control pills.
