okay, sorry about all the silver puppy posts. Trying to figure this thing out.
I set it up according to the instructions with the settings on DC and auto. The green LED light lit up as soon as I put the silver leads into the water. However I checked it after 20 minutes and the light is now out. What gives? I thought the light was supposed to stay on the whole time? Is it still working?- Re: LED Light on my silver puppy wen... This is a reply to # 1,483,386You may want to check the quality of your water with a meter from Silverpuppy. Usually when it goes out that fast the water is bad.

the water is from the store. distilled. the jar was completely clean.
Do you think store-bought distilled water could be contaminated enough to shut this down? I have used this same water to make CS before with no problems, but never with the silver puppy.- Re: LED Light on my silver puppy wen... Steve888

This is a reply to # 1,483,394Yes, believe it or not sometimes you can get a batch of bad distilled water with too many minerals. I have had some from walmart that read as high as 14-15ppm. So testing might be good.

This is a reply to # 1,483,406really? That is surprising to me. Somewhere around here I have a PPM meter. I guess I should take it up.
I don't the water from the jar, cleaned off the silver leaves, and put in more water. I plugged the unit in and put it into the water. On the "auto" setting the light does not come on, however on the "manual" setting the light does come on! What gives?
Also, on my other unit you could tell it was working because bubbles would form around one of the leads. Does that happen with this unit also?- Re: LED Light on my silver puppy wen... Steve888

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,483,450I don't have my silver puppy anymore but if memory serves me correctly in auto mode the light is like your indicator for water purity. Almost off or very dim is usually good water. If it's bright from the get go, bad water. When it reaches the preset conductance point (or ppm) the light goes out at the end of the auto process. In manual mode the light just stays on and you can go as high as you want. Ken from silverpuppy has gotten it as high as 50ppm.

This is a reply to # 1,483,545In Auto. You insert the tips of the electrodes in the water and the light should come on but should be dim. Then as you put the electrodes in further the light should get brighter.
If the light comes on full bright with the tips of the electrodes, the water isn't pure enough.
You might have to unplug the unit for a minute to reset the circuit.

This is a reply to # 1,483,603That's ironic. Because all the distilled water I tried was useless. I had to use demineralized water eventually to make CS with my puppy. That was the only water pure enough I could get my hands on.
