He suggests to take kelp as it is a source of natural iodine mixed with the proper amount of other trace minerals. He recommend the kelp from places that are the least polluted. One of them is Norwegian kelp.

Added to this is that most of todays foods contain too much NPN as Potassium Nitrate and we have a Recipe for Sickness and Disease!

Then to Top this off each person has Different Genetic make up, which may affect how each person Digests their foods and How much each person may get out of the foods we eat!

Thus a Thyroid Dominate person shall react Very Different to Laminaria Digatata kelp compared to a Adrenal Dominate person!

Your question: Hello! I've been spending the last few days in the iodine supplementation forum. My Mom has had thyroid issues (ended up with a thyroidectomy a few years ago) and I want to support and keep my thyroid in good working order. I have recently noticed more hair loss than normal in the shower and on and off edema in my ankles, which are two signs of hypothyroidism, I believe. In addition, it seems difficult to lose weight. I have been healthy otherwise and generally feel good, just groggy in the morning since I quit coffee.

Anyway, just this afternoon, I ordered Iodoral off Amazon, thinking I would take one of those each day in an effort to ensure my thyroid is getting enough iodine/iodide.

So, was ordering Iodoral a mistake? After reading some of the posts on this forum, it would seem that might be the case.

Do you know what else I should take along with the Iodoral, or in place of it? I had read on the Iodine supplementation forum about making sure I get companion nutrients like Vitamin C (3,000 mg or more), Magnesium Oxide (300-600 mg), Selenium (200 mcg), Niacin (500 MG two times per day), and B2 (200 mg)...

Anyway, what am I in for, in your opinion, if I take Iodoral?

Finally, I came here because I have shown up as slightly acidic with the PH test strips over at least the last several years. What is your advice for getting my system to a better PH balance?

Answer: You can take the Iodine if your Heart is set on it, but it by it's self is not going to Solve your problems!

I do not suggest the ingesting of Elemental Iodine, but instead taking Top Quality Kelp, which shall supply any needed Natural Iodine plus all kinds of needed Alkaline Minerals your body is going to be Lacking in!

Plus Kelp is a Natural food and may not Poison you like taking Elemental Iodine may do!

What would you do if a child got hold of your Elemental Iodine and ingested enough to Poison the child?
