Believe it or not, yours is such a common story. At a guess, I'd say it could be that either a stone was retained in the bile duct even despite surgery (mainstream medicine often suggests this is the cause of the problem), or that a stone has moved from the liver into the bile duct since surgery - this is more the explanation you might read on this forum. Either way, a flush might help move it if it is due to a stone in the bile duct, which could be causing the bloated feeling. I've read that the
Epsom Salts help to dilate and relax the smooth muscle wall of the bile duct to help allow stones to pass if stuck. I still have my GB, and I was lying in bed one night, very bloated and in considerable discomfort (after the gastroenterologist had prodded my liver region that day), then without warning I suddenly felt a shudder/vibration in GB region, and the bloating and discomfort was gone...just like that. My attacks seemed to have disappeared and so I went for a second ultrasound a couple of weeks later, and found that my littlest stone of 6.3cm was gone! And I hadn't even done my first flush then! But back to your current problem...some clinics will do lithotripsy of stones retained in bile ducts to shatter them so they can pass. But many people (not doctors though) would suggest you do the flush to try to shift a potential stuck stone. It's either that, or just wait, or see a doctor for some exploratory work. When I used to have a lot of pressure and bloating a couple of months ago (prior to the incident described), I found out accidentally that swimming a few laps relieved the pressure, so now I try to swim a few laps most days. I think it really helps me. All the best. Let us know how you get on.
