I am not currently pregnant, but we are trying to have another child and I've been trying to get prepared for pregnancy with some bowel cleansing.
Is the lower bowel formula ok to take in pregnancy? I read that a few of the herbs are not good, but I also read Dr. Christopher's book about women, and it seems to be recommended in that. I have been using Dr. Schulze's formula, but I am not comfortable taking that during pregnancy because I read that herbal laxatives such as senna and aloes can cause labor, and some also may affect the central nervous system of the developing baby. I know I need to continue on something as when I stopped the IF#1 I'm not as regular as I should be.
But Dr. Christopher's lower bowel also contains barberry, goldenseal, cascara sagrada & lobelia which are all listed as contraindicated during pregnancy. I know that I've read it is recommended for pregnancy though and I know that a lot of things written about herbs now are innacurate.
I also used progesterone cream during my last pregnancy in order to get pregnant and maintain the pregnancy. Is there an herbal formula that would be better to use instead of this? I am having some hormonal issues now I believe as I've been feeling some pulling or slight uncomfort under my left arm & into the breast. I had this happen last year when I was nursing and it went away. I just finished nursing about 1 1/2 months ago and the feeling is back. I started taking Dr. Schulze female formula which was recommended by a friend of mine. I recently read a post about Dr. Christopher's female formula helping a tumor go away. I don't think I have a tumor as I had trouble with this breast during nursing getting clogged, so maybe it's lymph tissue or something not draining? Maybe fibrocystic breasts? It seemed to be going away the last few days, but today it seems back. I recently started on Evening Primrose oil. Could that make it worse?
I would like your opinion. I hope I've given you enough information to go on.
Thanks!
