Hi I've had my mirena for 4yrs now.I have a Dr. appt tomorrow to have it taken out. I can't take the side effects I get during the time im suppose to have a period .(I have not had a period ever since I had it put in.) I get stomach pain I want to throw up bad headaches and the mood swings are so bad. Last year when I went for my yearly check-up my Dr. told me I shouldnt have those side effects.So she just gave me the run around about it I got upset and i sufferd another year.But tomorrow she won't fool me its coming out! You ladies out there dont wait like I did you know your body better than anyone and if you feel its the mirena get it out... I think I will have my tubes tied. I use to be on the pill got off because of my age.At that time I was 40.Dr. said I was to old to be on pill I could get blood clots in my breasts.Anyone out there using another birth control method after having mirena taken out? Im really scared to try something else because of the side effects. Thanks

Did you continue to have abdominal pain after removal? Around my period I get mid abdominal pain, too high for reproductive issues. Usually on the left hand side, same level as belly button. I am 5 months post removal and I keep getting twinges, I am worried the intense pain is going to come back. I also suffer from no libido, vaginal dryness, tearyness, anxiety, depression, strong cramps, sore breasts, tiredness, excess body hair and hair loss. I thought I would feel better by now! The anxiety is driving me crazy as I have never had it before
