I just found this site and can't believe there are others out there who have similar symptoms. I thought I was going crazy! I have had Mirena for over 3 yrs. and have had diff. symptoms for about a yr.1/2.they are:
Heart palpitaions
Feeling of blood rushing to chest area(similar to head rush)
Anxiety
Feeling of chest heaviness
Tingling in left leg and arm
lately dizziness when I close my eyes(not to bad)
Just feel off- Not normal
Heartburn (taking prilosec 2x a day)
I did get my Dr. to run bloodwork and I had an EKG and Treadmill test. All normal, cholesterol high
I made an appt. to have it taken out yesterday, but Dr. rescheduled.
Never would have thought they were caused by my IUD! Dr. didn't even ? it. My gyno said It may be the cause. It is rare, but let's take it out anyway. Just in case. She seems to think you get back to normal asap. From what I've read on here, it could take a long time. Thanks for all the posts. I know I'm not crazy or a hyphochodriac! Anybody else have similar symptoms?Advertisement

This is a reply to # 1,460,517Welcome. Glad you found this site. I'm delighted to hear there's a doctor out there that will admit the Mirena could be the cause of your problems. So glad to hear you're having it removed. I hope your gyno will notify Bayer of the side effects you have. Wishing you a speedy recovery. MoreThis is a reply to # 1,460,517Welcome. You are not alone; there are a great number of us who suffered/suffer the same symptoms. For me the anxiety has been the worst. This is a great place to find support and info. I am almost 3-months post removal and can attest that recovery is a roller coaster ride, but it does get better. I am soo much better than I was, but still healing. This forum has been a godsend. Take care and feel free to ask any questions you may have; the ladies on this forum are a wealth of info. =)

You are not alone and will get yourself feeling well slowly, but surely once the Mirena is removed. Remember, it's baby steps...you had your mirena in for awhile and it takes awhile for your body to adjust and heal itself. I am 3 months post-removal and my symptoms are lower back pain and tingling in feet, face and a little all over. I have alot more good days than bad! yeah! You will too!
