I have had breast reduction and had no problem with incision separation. Just stay down and take it easy as the Dr. recommends. My doc suggested 2 wks. off from work. I only laid around for about a wk. and began getting out of the house, visiting friends, etc. the last week. I could have used 3 wks. off from work just b/c surgery exhausts you. My body was definitely working hard to recover.
I did wear sports bras. My doctor recommended that I wear the kind that zip up in the middle so as to not to try to raise my arms over my head post-op. He seemed to think that raising my arms would be uncomfortable which it was not. The zipper is more effective in not having to struggle to get a non-zippered bra over sore breasts.
The only thing I did not like about the surgery was the resulting scars which I expected. I waited until I was almost 30 to have the procedure done b/c I wanted to finish having children and b/c I was unsure of the payoff - Scars or saggy breasts, either way I was not going to be completely pleased.
I am much happier with scars. At least now I can wear cami tops and sundresses w/o having to worry about support. Also, the weight off my shoulders is tremendous and great! I didn't think it bothered me much before b/c I thought I was used to it. Boy was I wrong!
I have to say that while not completely gone, my scars have faded. It has been a year since I had the procedure and I am happy that I did it. I read that your surgery was scheduled for Jan. 30 so you are probably recovering now and this is too late but I just had to share my opinion b/c I had a kinda hard time finding others opinions when I went through my experience. I sure hope this helps.
