...commented my daughter-in-law (the fitness and fashion queen), "I can see it in your legs, the way you walk, the way you carry yourself, the definition in your arms. Yeah, you are definitely stronger... yay!"
How's THAT for a pump up? lol
But before y'all get any big mental image of me entering a Ms. Universe competition or anything, I want you to see this video made by a guy with the same form of MD that Eurovw and I have (and honestly, I didn't get a firm diagnosis). This guy has progressed (bad thing) a lot further than I have, but I'm doing the IP because I don't want to get to this place (or worse). Also what you can't see is that the cardio and respiratory muscles are also affected in this particular form of MD, and the prognosis for the disease is basically that we die of either cardiac or respiratory failure, and before that, we required long-term assisted "living."
So, anyway, to introduce you to Eurovw's and my battle:
When I see this guy's videos, I get so motivated to do/continue the IP. I have GOT to see if I can beat this thing. Christopher and Schulze said they had some folks do it. I now know of four people who have been diagnosed with some form of muscular dystrophy and have actually been able to reverse it. The words "cure it" may be a stretch because of the genetic thing. Two of these four people I have personally contacted and compared notes with. One of these two I am almost positive did the IP. They ALL said they stopped listening to their doctors and took personal responsibility for their own health. They ALL began what amounted to an athlete's mindset and training schedule. They ALL cleaned up their diets, developed a winning attitude, and developed an incredibly healthy lifestyle. They ALL are very positive people.
I am so excited for all of the guys who are about to start the IP, I am tickled pink. It's tough, guys. You will be challenged. But I ask for a special shout out to Eurovw for having the balls to do the impossible. He's a great guy and I really like him.
I was going to take a break from the forum this round to get my house ready to sell, but Uny and I came to the agreement that I need the forum as much as the forum "needs" me, especially with the Alpha Flight starting the IP in a week or two. So, anyway, I'll be here as I can, and you Alphas (Hoo-ah!!) are welcome to PM or email me as well.
WOW! thank you soo much for that video.I understand so much better now. My image of you is rather fuzzy because most of the time I imagine you a very STRONG woman doing amazing things (and you are) but that just doesnt mix with how you describe your problems. Its mentally hard to picture you struggling with your strength! But its definitely just physical,we all look up to you here! : )
I agree with Ginger. You project such strength of spirit in all of your posts we forget what you're dealing with. I also have a better understanding of what it is you are overcoming and I have no doubt that you WILL win this battle and come out healed on the other side. This video put on face on MD and helped me to understand what it is. Its a wonderful thing to watch you give love and support to others while you yourself are in the middle of the program and in your own fight to heal. You go girl, you have my utmost respect.
Watch the ones on climbing stairs and using the wall to get up a step. It takes this guy about 10 minutes to get up a flight of stairs, while it only takes me about 2 minutes. The using a wall to get up a step is a lot closer to home. I HAVE to have handrails or a person or a wall to get up any kind of step, so after you watch it, you can see why it is such a big deal for me to get up the bottom step of the three that lead to my back door completely unassisted.
Little things are BIG things- loading and unloading the dishwasher, doing the laundry, putting a casserole in the oven, using a dustpan, cleaning out the bathtub or toilet, putting clean sheets on the bed. I can do all of these things, but they exhaust me. Superfood has really helped here.
On the other hand, washing dishes and vacuuming are easy to do. Cooking is easy except for getting stuff out of the refrigerator and lifting heavy pots.
I didn't mean for this to be a big, long thing about me, but I kinda want to educate everybody on what it is Eurovw are trying to do here. The hypothesis is that by doing the full IP with a LOT of BF&C, circulation therapies, flushing toxins and inorganic minerals, adding tons of plant nutrition, cleansing, exercising, and having a great attitude, we can reverse the progression of MD and actually regenerate muscle tissue/mass where there is none. Dr. Christopher and Schulze said they had patients with every kind of neurological disease get well and strong, so Eurovw and I are like, "bring it."
I need to get back to work. Thanks for the encouragement. :)
