I was never at my hydrotherapy/colonic sessions for more than 90 minutes, but that is a sensible length of time to allow for the entire visit. I did my two series here in Tacoma at the office of a naturopath. The entire process was very methodical. Privacy was assured throughout. Appointments were spaced such that one rarely encountered other patients in thge waiting room. I appreciated that, not that I am famous or anything, but I have lived and worked in this community for over 40 years. I know a lot of people, and was somewhat nervous at first about running into someone I knew. Then...I thought about it. I am here for my health. I am doing a very good thing. Other people who come here are likely here for a similar treatment or they are here for other naturopathic treatments. That completely changed my attitude.

For me, the process was routine after a couple of visits. I was shown to a changing room, where I would don the gown. I soon learned how to lubricate and insert the speculum. It was only then that I would call out that I was ready. There was always nice relaxing music. The lights were low. There was nice art on the walls.

After the process, the doctor or one of his therapists would pop in from time to time to check on me. (Always knocking first). There were sometimes nice surprises. A foot massage. An abdominal massage to help move the solution up and around the length of the colon. Early on...the doctor had to encourage me to relax and expel. I guess I was a bit anxious...LOL

I always felt safer if I took plenty of time to expel. I was never rushed. Each of the three treatment rooms was complete with a private toilet room. I never had any leaking incidents.
I visited the clinic recently and introduced myself to the new doctor. She seemed very knowledgeable and kind.

Before I scheduled a new series, I learned of the Optimal Health Network. From them, I purchased one of their Flowmaster systems and then a colon tube. For the cost of 2 -3 professional colonics, I now have a home system for administering very high enemas. (This is easy for me, having come from a family (and marrying into a family) wherein enemas were the common home remedy for all disorders - every ache or pain. I have always loved them....even when quite young.

I was pleased that, had I chosen the naturopath, her prices have not gone up. She charges $ 60.00 a session or 12 treatments for $ 500. I do believe that I am getting excellent benefit from the enemas here at home in the comfort of my upstairs loft.
