This happened in about December of last year. My veins on my right calf turned dark red then the skin peeled over them, then eventually they turned kind of like a dark bruise color but they aren't as noticeable as they were.
These pictures are of the same leg but right below the knee, these are new. I'm kind of worried about them because its the second time this has happened. I don't know what this is, if someone could tell me and what I might do to get rid of it I would appreciate it.

Willowley,
This sounds like some type of vein bruising and could have many causes. Have you seen a doctor? First you need to get a diagnosis before you can proceed, so you know what you are dealing with. If at all possible, I would see a holistic physician or a doctor of naturopathy. In any event, I think a diagnosis is very important.
Hugs,
Luella
Hi Luella,
No I haven't seen a doctor, to be honest I don't have a doctor. I can look for a doctor of naturopathy. I thought maybe someone here had seen this before. I wasn't concerned when it first happened but I am now that is seems to be spreading.
Do you think its something serious? I'll see what I can do about finding someone to take a look at it.
Thank you Luella for your help I really appreciate it.
Willow
Hi Willow,
From the picture and what you describe I can only guess that it is some type of vein bruising. And this is only a guess. You need someone to take a look at it and possibly do some tests on you. Of course, if you go to a regular doctor I cringe at what type of drugs they would give you, but at least they would give you a diagnosis. I would be wary of taking any dangerous drugs. Then, we could see what to do naturally. What I would do for now, being that it might be a vein or blood issue, maybe circulation, I don't know, is take cayenne pepper mixed in hot water or natural juice. One teaspoon. If this is too much work up. Uniquity at the Natural Healing Forum makes a very good cayenne tincture. But use the other cayenne method until the tincture arrives. I would go there and ask and maybe she can shed some light on this problem but, again, I would urge you to see a professional. A naturopath or holistic doctor would be ideal, as they will treat you naturally. You need to know exactly what is causing this. Cayenne will stabilize your circulation. It is excellent in healing the entire cardiovascular system. And even if one is perfectly healthy, this is excellent to take on a daily basis.
I really can't tell you if it is serious Willow, if they are vein bruises there are many causes, yet I think it is important that you know what you are dealing with.
And please, do keep me posted.
Hugs,
Luella
Hey Luella,
Thank you so much for your time and wealth of knowledge. I've posted on Uni's forum, waiting for an answer. Tomorrow I'll look for a holistic doctor, I'll have to travel some distance but it will be worth it to find out what this is.
I have always been in good health and want to stay that way so anything I have to do short of taking conventional medications I'll do. I just think that on a whole regular medical doctors and their drugs are killing us or making us sicker to keep us going to them. I don't know how much trouble I'll have finding a doctor who will take on a new patient but I'm sure a holistic doctor will be more willing to take on someone new.
I'll keep you posted and thank you again for giving me some direction. I'll order that cayenne as soon as Uni answers my post, at least I'll be doing something in the meantime which will make me feel better.
Hugs right back at you!
Willow
Thank you BTDT for all the time it took you to look up those links. I don't have diabetes or any other illness, I've been the picture of health all my life. I don't have any pain or itching associated with this problem.
What stood out for me in your post and after reading the links is that last November I took several months off work and have been sitting more than at any other time in my life. I was used to being on my feet a good portion of the day. Went from that to no physical activity at all apart from the daily activities of someone who stays home. I kind of vegged out so to speak and this problem showed up about a month later. I'm back to work now and very physically active, I should have stayed on a regular exercise plan when I was home but I didn't.
I'm in the process of finding a holistic doctor to take a look at it. Thank you again for your post.
Willow
Hi Willow,
I am so glad that you are taking the appropriate steps with regard to your health. Seeing a holistic doctor or naturopath is the best thing you can do, no matter the distance. Please do keep me posted as to the diagnosis.
Our health is the most important thing there is and taking the proper steps and seeking the right avenues to maintain it is crucial.
The cayenne, itself, may work wonders. That is powerful stuff and you will find uny to be very helpful and knowledgeable.
My best to you Willow. I'll be thinking good thoughts your way.
Hugs,
Luella
Hi Luella,
I'm having trouble finding a holistic doctor who will take on new patients, still looking. If I can't find one then I'll do the last resort thing and go to a regular doctor but I won't take anything he/she might prescribe for me, I'll just get a diagnosis and thats all.
Uny hasn't responded to my post yet, I see she is online today answering the latest posts so maybe she's going down the line ha ha. While waiting for her to answer my post which one of her cayenne should I order?
1. Cayenne/Capsicum Powder approximately 250,000 Scoville Heat Units - 4 ounces - $12.00 ($44.00 from Schulze -$22.00 for 2 ounces- OR $16.00 for 3.5 ounces from HFR. No matter what the stated Scoville Heat Unit range, neither Cayenne Powder is as hot/effective as this blend). An ultra hot blend of 1 part dried Habanero and 3 parts African Bird Pepper (no 'lesser heat filler peppers' like Jalapenos). Our supply of this is always limited as dried organic Habanero peppers are almost impossible to find, and the cost is around $40 per pound when we do find them. The 'grind' may be a bit coarser than a 'powder', as we sometimes grind whole dried African Bird Peppers for this blend in our Vitamix.
2. Cayenne/Capsicum #1 Made with 95% RAW Habanero Peppers (and for 'synergy' & color, a few organic dried Habaneros & African Bird Peppers). This tincture is amazing. Although it doesn't seem as hot as some 'top hot' tinctures, those that are very experienced using 'therapeutic cayenne' have tested it and found it to be more effective and 'opening' that tinctures that feel 'hotter'.
3. Cayenne/Capsicum #2 This tincture started as equal parts Cayenne Tincture #1 and 100 proof alcohol, added to dried African Bird Peppers. It is VERY hot & effective.
4. Cayenne/Capsicum #3 HOLY MOLY - this one is NOT for "cayenne newbies"! This tincture is made from dried Habaneros & dried African Bird Peppers...and you will know that you're alive after you take some! Also - the flavor of this one is superb. Almost everyone that's tried it has mentioned it.
If you could tell me which one I should order I'll order it quickly. Maybe she'll answer my post soon but I'd feel better taking the cayenne than doing nothing.
Thanks Luella for the good thoughts, you're very sweet.
Willow
Hi Willow,
I take the Cayenne Capsicum #2.
Good luck with finding a doctor. I know, sometimes naturopaths are hard to find.
Hugs,
Luella
