Hi Tracey,
Glad you like the info. I am so happy to share what i have learned.
First of all, please note that there are two different types of
Feng Shui: Yin House (houses for the dead or burial sites)
and Yang house (houses for the living - us right now!!)
Course, we are referring to Yang house here.
There is a very common misunderstanding that we are to "face"
a certain direction. The reality is that only in Yin house (gravesites) do we want to "face" an auspicious direction.
In Yang house we want to "sit" in a good direction. Think of it
as something supporting you from behind to push you ahead in life.
We all can imagine the feeling of swimming upstream.
anyway, I realize that most books cite the "facing" as important, however in all that i have studied, learned and practiced, it is
the "sitting" direction. Even the masters might disagree in the interpretation of this, however, this is what works in my experience.
With that long discourse, here is some info for you.
I am using a very simplified version of Feng Shui that we call
East/West theory. It is quite simple and helpful instead of a formal consultation (please note that nothing can take the place of an experienced practitioner to reach more accurate levels)
You are of the trigram Gen
Gen is of the earth element and belongs to the West group
He is of the Qian trigram.
Qian is of the hard metal element and also belongs to the West group.
This is good. That means that a house situated per the West group
sitting directions will be beneficial for both of you - should not
clash here. (sorry - i don't know much of western astrology)
So, what this means is that to place your house where the "sitting" or most private areas are situated in one of the four directions: Northeast, Northwest, southwest or West.
Means your best view & most public parts of your home will be
situated in the oppostite of one of these 4 directions.
I hope this is clear.
I do not know of any websites that provide you with this info,
however, I recommend the book: "The Principles of Feng Shui"
as a very academic (not pretty) book on East/West theory (in english!) that would be a good guide for you.
I found mine at the following website:
www.amfengshui.com
but you can also order it from amazon.
Good Luck!
