Hi you guys,
Lapis just posted this quiz over on the C forum - and, well, I just looooove quizes so I took it and I turned out to be:
Based on the traits you selected, your personality is:
Water 34 %, Fire 22 % Wood 18 %, Earth 18 %, Metal 6 %
Sounds right to me!
I have done some corresponding with Traditional Chinese Medicine and western astrology elements before and I find it very interesting...
But more research must be done!
I'd love it if you all took the quiz and posted your results along with:
1. Your Ascendant sign
2. Your Sun sign
3. Your Moon sign
4. Your Mercury sign
Then we can see correspondences.
Mine works out exactly right - with my top scores as Water and Fire:
1. My Ascendant=Scorpio (water)
2. My Sun=Sagittarius (fire)
3. My Moon=Leo (fire)
4. My Mercury=Scorpio (water
hmmmm!
It gets more confusing when you get into Wood, Earth and Metal, however - as they don't correspond exactly (which is why it would be great to collect some data right now!)
Wood relates to Capricorn/Saturn clearly
Earth I have found to relate to Librans and Cancerians
Metal is Virgoan.
But we need more info!~

Cielo and Anthony I know that both of you have strong Saturns (Cielo: Saturn on your Ascendant and Anthony: Saturn beside your Sun) - so that's why all the Wood!
Seems like Air and Fire (both yang in western astrology) both manifest as FIRE in TCM-5 elements. And the YIN Earth & Water manifest as WATER in TCM-5 elements.
Janaki - all your Virgo = Metal!
anyway....would love to see more people sign on with their info - and Grog...one day I will have time to look at your chart!! (yes yes yes)

The high fire and water make perfect sense! What I find interesting is that metal and wood are soooo low, given the fact that my north node is in capricorn, in the sixth house (virgo). That's cool (I keep hearing about 'astrology for the soul' but haven't sought it out yet - I'll have to take a look) - your insights seem bang on!
It's your North Node in Capricorn so it IS where your soul wants to leap to in this lifetime (those Wood traits) and the 6th house is where you need to go too which is Metal!! Super cool. Makes sooo much sense....kinda nifty that you have a whole list of words now, under Wood and Metal, that you can work on bringing into your life - they really do correspond exactly to your North Node in Capricorn in the 6th~! Exciting. Pretty clear....
And that fits right in with TCM philosophy too - that our aim is to be BALANCED - so bring that Wood and Metal up...

This is a reply to # 139,584Isn't it crazy how right on that is. It is just so clear what I need to do. It's like the fire, air, and water are gifts that I was born with and the wood and metal are traits that I need to learn and incorporate in to my life. Sometimes I get very confused as to what my purpose on earth is, but when I look at it as a journey to becoming balanced, everything seems very simple.
I would definitely recommend that book. I have found it to be invaluable to understanding myself and others. If you do decide to read it, I would love to hear what you think about it.- Astrology for the Soul Tracey

So, I checked out Astrology for the Soul and it appears to be a straight-forward look at the North and South Nodes, yes? I loooove the Nodes and feel they are verrry important in interpreting a chart.The S node shows where you are comfortable (too comfortable usually!) and the N node shows where your soul wants to go in this lifetime. Fascinating stuff.
Your S node in Cancer (12th house) and N node in Capricorn (6th house) may point out that you need to learn all about emotions in this lifetime - perhaps you were born into a family with alot of emotional problems/issues between the Father and Mother? You all would have contracted to learn this together....to really 'get' what it means to FEEL (because quite possibly you were all learning about this emotional world for the first time...?)....and then be able to control your emotions (not let them get away from you) by creating a 'silent witness' within you - an objective point to see/feel from. Hmmmm...Your N node position also indicates that you may want to leap towards Mastery in the Real World somehow...discipline, service, hard-work...making something real, tangible and feeling talented and useful...
Hopefully I'll get the Red Earth's done soon (you're a Red Electric Earth in the mayan) - and you can read about other aspects of your self via Mayan astrology! Wow, I know sooo many 'electric's' (Tone 3) - and they always relate to Gemini and/or a strong Mercury.

It's interesting what you said about emotional issues with my family because it seems like I am operating between two extremes. My mother is overly emotional, often too caught up in herself to really pay any attention to me and my father is very distant. He's a wonderful guy, but has never been expressive of his feelings or emotions. I often felt like a non-entity growing up. I felt like there was this great person inside of me but noone really noticed. I guess a part of me still feels that way to this day. It doesn't help that I also don't feel well physically. It seems like lack of energy keeps me from going out and doing stuff that I want to do. I can see how that relates to the north node in the 6th house in the sense that I need to physically take care of myself (6th house?) so that I am able to go out and do something tangible (capricorn).

Yes...you're right about the sixth house Health and Food aspects. It may be through figuring out how you can be physically healthy (and what foods are good for you etc) that you'll find what it is you need to bring in to the real world...hmm...
