Vance,
No problem. I'm not a hypochondriac, overall I'm very healthy, but I have had problems with my voice for the last few years. Being a singer and a music teacher it's been very frustrating and I'm willing to try just about anything to resolve the problem. I've been to ENTs and Voice pathologists that have said it's something physical and not related to my voice or my vocal technique. They thought it might be acid reflux. I tried traditional cures (proton pump inhibitors) as well as homeopathic cures for acid reflux, but the problem persisted. They then thought it must be my cryptic tonsils and post nasal drip. I've tried many different things with no luck as I really don't want to have my tonsils removed as someone in my 30's. When I came across oil pulling I thought I would give it a try and was pleasantly surprised with the results except for the appearance of some transparency on my teeth. I've done some additional research on coconut oil and everything I've found is that it is beneficial to teeth and overall oral hygiene as well as calcium absorption. I've started pulling again with coconut oil, but only for 5 minutes or so a day. I've also started taking calcium supplements. I may have possibly had this transparency all along but just didn't notice it because my teeth were slightly yellow and stained. Anyway, over the past week it seems that my teeth have either stayed about the same or possibly even improved a little bit as far as the transparency goes. I'll keep you posted. Not sure what the whole salty taste was all about but it's gone now.
