I have a Waterwise 9000 distiller. Lately I noticed that the output has fallen off. I distilled 1 gallon yesterday and measured the output. I had a little less than 3 quarts.
A little water does leak out around the fitting that connects the kettle to the distilling coils. The water that leaks out is far less than one quart. Could the remainder of the loss come from steam loss?

I'm not familiar with this particular brand, but it is not normal for production to drop unless something is clogged with residue or the steam is escaping. If the water going into the distiller is hard water, you may have a residue build-up. - Re: Water Distiller Output Dr Mom

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,385,279I think I misunderstood your question the first time I read it - I thought you used to get a gallon of distilled water and now you are only getting 3 quarts - when I reread it, I saw that what you were saying is that you put 1 gallon of water in and get 3 quarts back - yes, this would be normal. Depending on how contaminated the water is - you are going to get less back because it is leaving all of the garbage behind.
