No prescription required in UK either, but i found difficult to get hold of here.

I did find somewhere but it was cheaper to import from jcrows.

To my knowledge, no prescription required in America but limited to 1 small bottle per order of the full strength but bigger quanties of 'half strength' (2%) are ok.

AFAIK you can buy bigger quanties of normal strength Lugols in America but this would require the seller to pass on your details to the DEA because obviously you are up to no good.

We have a really good health food store in my area, and I bought the 5% there. They sell a lot of very high quality supplements, and the kinds of supps you usually only see in holistic Dr.'s offices.
