Thanks for the response Paulette
Hello. My guess and it is just a guess, but simple at that, I've assumed you've stopped the DHEA.
Yes.. stopped on Thursday.
It will just have to be lowered naturally by your own body. Drink lots of water, as it should come out that way.
I am hoping this is true. I am also drinking organic soy milk as i have read this will lower DHEA. My hair stopped falling out for 2 days on a low glycemic diet, soy and some topical saw palmetto
I tested not using it yesterday, and sure enough gobs of hair came out today.. so I know how to manage it right now..
I have done the experimenting too and it usually ends up not so good.
Yes.. i understand completely.. I just have had a lot of successes I guess i feel invinsible sometimes.
I recently had my hormones checked, cortisol, estrodial, DHEA, testosterone and progesterone ( all saliva tested thru ZRT lab. out of OREGON. To my amazement, my cortisol levels the first time a year ago, when I crashed were low. 3 months ago they were normal, yet I was still very adrenal symptomatic ( go figure that) Than recently my progesterone, and cortisol were high. The progesterone cream I had been using was 3 times highers than what a woman normally produces. I called the compounding pharmacy where I get this from and also sent a letter to my past naturopath dr. asking does excess progesterone increase cortisol levels. a BIG FAT YES. So until my follow up appt. I have stopped the progesterone cream and within day, my anxeity levels and lightheadedness have gotten better. High cortisol levels as well as low can cause problems. Such a delicate balance in everything.
No doubt.. good thing you had everything tested and you figured it out. Dr. Borkin (a good naturpath hormone doctor says it can take years to get all the excess progesterone out..) good thing you notice results already. I am amazed how potent these things are and how vunerable our bodies are too. I am starting to think EVERYTHING is chemical.
I'm just amazed at how delicate and precise God created our bodies and all our hormones to work together in perfect harmony. If just one hormone is singing off key, it effects the whole body. Amazing, isn't it.
I believe from now on I will have my hormones checked once every years, whether I'm feeling fine or not. Take comfort, your body will adjust in time, once you have stopped the DHEA. May be in your interest to get your hormone levels checked, whether saliva or a 24 hour. urine collection test. How old are you, may I ask?
I am getting a hormone test today, from my GP. I am only 31 years old and still hoping for one more baby, this is what I am most scared about. Elevated DHEA causes PCOS in normal females. I am wondering how many months it will take to get the system up and running again, if possible.. my period is such a joke right now. I know I did some damage.
Other things I have noticed:
Hair on chest/chin
Extra stretch marks on my breasts
dry eye in my left eye
muscle cramps..
Not sure how this is all connected yet. I am working on flushing DHEA and normalizing levels right now.. The scariest thing is how i keep reading that some of these things are permanent.
Thanks for your note Paulette.
