Hi thank you very much for your post. It was very informative. I am on this other thinking track and I am hoping to get your opinion and advice. I think that perhaps I have a problem with my liver's cytochrome p450 system.
Here's why I think that my pain and my reactions are caused by what I guess is a faulty or overworked cytochrome system.
- The last time I went to the allergist, the only foods that were plus/minus allergic to me were: broccoli, spinach, garlic, avocadoes...all inducers of liver detoxification
- The first time I noticed the pain in my liver which basically led to a panic attack was a day when I did not drink my then usual few cups a day of green tea, an inhibitor of cytochrome p450
- Things like cayenne, pantethene, vitamin c seem to cause reactions
WORST OF ALL - I HAVE MIXED REACTIONS
For example, sometimes when I took 5htp it would gear me up like that speed type of feeling, and other times it would make me crash like I was allergic.
Ever since getting off Lexapro and hydrocortisone I have had these reactions. I don't know if this means my liver function has become a lot worse. I don't know if this means that I lack phase 1 or phase 2 detox inducers, or what. Honestly, I am not really sure what to think. So I would REALLY appreciate any help I can get. PLEASE PLEASE HELP.
