Hello Uni,
It appears we have different perspectives...
What you call attacking I call holding accountable.
Jim Humble had an idea and ran with it. Along the way he made some faulty assumptions. I am pointing out those faulty assumptions and providing corrections.
I happen to think Jim Humbles efforts would be far more effective if he based his thinking upon actual science.
I would rather listen to medical professionals debate the possible ways that these chemicals may work inside the body, then have them immediately dismiss the whole idea because of Jim Humbles inaccurate claims. Early on I had a discussion with a medical professional that was also very knowledgeable about these chemicals. When I brought up the disinfecting properties of chlorine dioxide inside the body, I was immediately told that chlorine dioxide is too reactive to exist within the body. There are no measurements to determine chlorine dioxide levels in the body. In industry, when someone has been exposed to chlorine dioxide, measurements are done to try to detect the reaction by products in the body and the amount of oxidative stress damage that has occurred.
If you take Jim Humbles books and remove every reference to chlorine dioxide in the body, what do you have left?
Since Jim Humbles version of
Science can not be verified and since it forms the very foundation of his ideas, it becomes very difficult to support his ideas. There has been a major shift in the protocol, so perhaps there still is hope. He originally claimed that chlorine dioxide lasted in the body for 12 hours so two doses a day were the way to go. Now he has revised that down to 2 hours with smaller doses suggested every 2 hours. Unfortunately, when researchers place chlorine dioxide in an animals stomach and then removed it, they found that the chlorine dioxide was gone within minutes. If you take a dose of
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement and swish it in your mouth, the chlorine dioxide is gone within seconds.
Jim Humble has a wonderful vision. In order to achieve that he needs a strong foundation to build from. Right now his foundation ideas of
Science are very shaky at best and in many cases wrong.
In a recent correspondence Jim Humble commented that it wasn't important to know how
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement worked, just to know that it does work. I don't buy into that line of thought either. Jim Humble has based the safety of
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement upon chlorine dioxide. Since there is no chlorine dioxide in the body, I think it is important to know what is the chemical that is doing the work. Enough people have used MMS to know that it is not lethal, but that does not make it a safe chemical to use.
Look at sodium, for example. The body needs sodium, but over time if you take too much of it, there are health issues that arise. If sodium were found to relieve the symptoms of malaria, there may be a bunch of people running around free from malaria but suffering from high blood pressure and all of the heart issues that are associated with it.
I think it is important to understand how something works. That way when it doesn't work you can figure out why and go on from there. Sodium chlorite has been well studied in industry, and it is very effective when it is properly used. It is possible that sodium chlorite may be beneficial in the body, but let's get the facts straight and go on from there.
