Well I took my break and watched all the stars and had a few hours of watching the famous. It was a well produced musical production with Hugh Jackman as MC.
I just love watching the stars and how they get all dressed up and see the emotions of the wins. There wasn't any surprises other than Sean Penn winning for best actor for Milk. People protested him as he drove up as he played a gay/homesexual in the movie. He thanked the academy for loving a Gay, homo comi. Funny how life is. That a person is judged by his personal preferrence opposed to his heart. I personally was cheering for Brad Pitt but again he loses.
Slum Dog Millionaire won for best picture as expected and I can't say I agree but they were the odds on for the win.
I love to watch the dresses and everything, but I can honestly say I don't envy not one of the stars. They seem to suffer many hardships and many trials and to me it just is not worth the fame. Although I was cheering for Brad to win I certainly don't like what he has done to Jennifer Aniston so his price for fame is high.
I am wondering how many of us would change places with these stars and giveup what we have in this life. I mean would you like to be Meryl Strep and have 15 oscar nominations or do you feel you are happy with where you are in life.
They all look sweet on the outside, I wonder how many are truly happy.

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,362,851There was not a dry eye in the room when the family of Heath Ledger goes to accept the oscar for Heath Ledger. They accepted the oscar for his daughter Matilda.
It brings only one thought to mind of what a waste of life. Again he dies from mixing pharmaceuticals together. Sleeping pills, pain pills and depressants. What a coctail for anyone.
Anna Marie's son the same thing. When will people wake up and realize that this is a sure death sentence.

Mainstream media contrived Ledger's death to be an accident, a kind of pharmaceutical misadventure ....
As if.
The 'stars' can get what drugs they want, legal or otherwise.
In any case, one's death is always self-created, regardless of circumstance or status.
While I am Australian and admire his obvious talent, I also see that he is not much different to anyone else here.
Many have drug and other addictions, and that is fact.

This is a reply to # 1,362,961I like Heath a lot. He was never afraid to play any kind of role; and was very good at it.
He did a wonderful job in The Dark Knight. He should have been the star instead of supporting actor.
He has played so many varying roles. My favorite was his role in The Four Feathers. He was branded a coward by his friends. He was not; and proved it. He played a homosexual cowboy in Brokeback Mountain. Not my favorite. Did not care for the story; but his acting was superb. Not many are willing to do that. It is a challenge. Knights Tale was another favorite of mine.

My favorite dress was that of Penelope Cruz. It was a vintage affair. Of course, she would look beautiful in sack cloth.

This is a reply to # 1,363,314I don't believe in post-humous awards, although probably Heath has deserved it. I am certainly no movie critic.
As for gossip: I've only watched the opening, I admit. I wanted to se Hugh Jackman, how he's starting out. To me, he is a very likeable actor. He was so unfamous talking to media, treating them like friends, when he and family arrived to visit Nicole Kidman and bub. (Not so for Ms Kidman! She has plenty to learn from Mr Hughman & family) Debra-Lee seems very genuine too.
Has anyone noticed? In the last promotional photo, live take of Hugh for the movie Australia, his face was not so young and fresh. after all, he is 39, and showed it. For the Oscars, he was magickly "ironed out". Not even one crow's feet, not a line on his forehead. These were the two areas, where he started to age. Plenty Botox for the big occassion. Then again, why not, he looked great. I do think, he looks so handsome in a suit. His hair is always so well cut, styled.- Re: Heath Ledger wins mo123

Well thought he was great, quite frankly I was so tired of those comic shows. They were so corny.

I haven't watched the Oscars for years. Too long and at times very boring or MC's trying to be too funny. Apparently the British critics didn't think Hugh was so good. I don't know, like I said, I've only watched the first 10 minutes. The rest I"ve got from newsflash etc. The dresses were elegant, but almost all of them same style, just different colour. Except that Melissa George, the fluffy duck in white. Except for Sean Penn, most of the awrds or the biggies, went to foreigners, Americans didn't have much of a look in. One thing was good, the Indian child stars got a great trip out of all this. What an opportunity it was for them!
No, I don't watch read gossip colums, only what's on PC. Most of them you can't believe anyway. I don't buy mags for this reason.

Well, he's not my hero; but I think he was quite talented and would have been a great movie star. I do think there are more sides to a story than the media gives. He had a loving daughter and he loved her very well too. I don't think he would have committed suicide. The media has it that he took too many prescription drugs. Rumors have it that it was more than that. I like to think that he took a cocktail of prescribed drugs that should not have been taken together. Maybe he had more than one doctor; and did not tell each of the prescriptions that he already had. It should not surprise us. My positive thoughts say it was a terrible mistake.
Do you get to watch US TV commercials? I hope not. There are so many prescription drugs in these commercials. One even says that there is a risk is death. It says to talk to your doctor about the risks. Good grief! Why would anyone want to talk to their doctor about such a drug. Others say there is a risk of liver problems. Well, that's the case with nearly all drugs.

This is a reply to # 1,362,851I like to see the stars, they do look beautiful. I never understood the oscars cause it usually isn't very popular movies. I also was rooting for Brad to win :(. I would change with some stars in a minute, but others no way. Some have it great like Tom Hanks, and others have it hard like the Olsen twins...all the booze and drugs. I always wonder about stuff like heath ledger...I never saw the movie, but everyone said he was great, but I feel in these cases it is more about him dying, rather than acting. I feel sorry for the other nominees cause they automatically know they won't win.Advertisement

This is a reply to # 1,362,934I never saw the movie either and yes it is more about giving him one last credit before his daughter ends up with nothing. You know, he had no will and left his daughter nothing.
I like to watch the stars and see what they are wearing and who they show up with. I too like Tom Hanks and Steve Martin was cute. I do like Hugh Jackman alot. Well all this is forbidden in Islam so I must ask Allah to forgive me but I do enjoy the musicals he did.
I hate Jolie, don't you, she is so snobby. Wow, I am become a real gossip here. lol.
