Chenodeoxycholic acid is bile acid. Use of bile and bile acids in healing is thousands of years old.
Chenodeoxycholic acid, as drug, is used to dissolve cholesterol gallstones. Brand Names: Chendol & Chenofalk. (Litholytic therapy - Litholytic or bile salt therapy) Patients are prescribed chenodeoxycholic or ursodeoxycholic acid in dosages of about 12 to 14 mgms per kilogram of body weight per day.
Human liver produces naturally Chenodeoxycholic acid. It is unknown how this drug, Chendol - Chenodeoxycholic acid is produced !??
This drug is not usually prescribed in pregnancy as it may adversely affect the baby. Diarrhoea is the most likely adverse effect, particularly on commencement of treatment.
Precautions: Chenodeoxycholic acid, given in long term studies at doses of 600 mg/kg/day to rats and 1000 mg/kg/day to mice, induced malignant liver cell tumours in female rats and male mice. The clinical significance of these findings is not known.
"These companies invariably report having performed experiments on animals but then often go on to admit (something like):
'the relevance of these studies to human beings is not known'.
It is difficult to avoid asking the question:
'Why do the studies if the relevance is not known?'
Look here:
http://vivisection-absurd.org.uk/errors2.html
As can be seen from the above, a huge number of drug companies seem to be doing animal tests without knowing their relevance to human patients.
On other occasions drug companies report that animal experiments have shown that their drugs cause problems - but that human experience suggests that the drug is entirely safe so the animal experiments can be safely ignored!
Animal experiments provide answers for all seasons.
It is not surprising that drug companies love them.

Bile acids are water-soluble cholesterol breakdown products which are secreted into the bile.
Human liver produces cholic and chenodeoxycholic acids. Their salts are called bile salts.
Bile, or gall, is composed of water, bile acids and their salts, bile pigments, cholesterol, fatty acids, and inorganic salts. Bile acids are synthesized in the liver from cholesterol. Bile acids have long been known to facilitate digestion and absorption of lipids in the small intestine.
Bile Acids recirculate in bile, aiding fat absorption in the intestine.
Chenodeoxycholic acid, as drug, is used to dissolve cholesterol gallstones.
Chenodeoxycholic acid occurs naturally in bile, where it helps control the concentration of cholesterol in the bile.
As an orally administered drug it is given as an alternative to surgery in the treatment of gallstones. It acts by reducing levels of cholesterol in the bile, helping
Gallstones that are made predominantly of cholesterol to dissolve. Chenodeoxycholic acid is ineffective with stones of a high calcium or protein content.
Its benefits are increased by healthy diet, motion, weight loss and a diet high in fibre and good fat. The drug dissolves
Gallstones in 3 to 18 months.
Radish juice and apple juice are considered efective with stones of a high calcium content, and orraly administred pancreatic enzymes could be efective with stones of a high protein content.
Another bile acid traditionally used in the treatment of
Gallstones is Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA).
Bears are the only mammals to produce significant amounts of, ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), the bear bile fluid. At $10 a spoonful of the tincture it is one of the most expensive traditional Chinese medicine.
Bear bile is believed to cure fevers and liver ailments, liven up a sagging love-life (aphrodisiac) and to promote general well being.
Use of Bear Bile in healing is thousands of years old in China, Russia & Korea.
Bear Bile was traditionally used in easing gallstones attacks, dissolving gallstones and preventing gallstones formation. It was also used in treating constipation, chronic fatigue, tiredness, tumors, cancer, leukemia, lymphomas, stomach ulcer, duodenal ulcer, arthritis, lower back pain, kidney diseases, rheumatism, spinal column diseases, impotence, prostatitis, metabolic diseases, chronic pancreatitis, colitis, gastritis. It considerably eases
Sugar diabetes, radiation disease (it helps eliminating radioactive pollution from the patient’s body). It helps healing the old wounds. It improves immunity.
Bear’s Bile tincture is used in treating serious infectious diseases like Gonorrhea & Chlamydia. Today, bear’s bile is successfully used in treating AIDS and Candidiasis. It increases vitality.
One gram of bear’s bile is enough to treat high fewer.
Bear’s bile can be given even to babies who have a high temperature accompanied by convulsions.
Bear’s bile has ability to neutralize different poisons. It has ant-inflammatory properties; therefore it is applied in the case of liver and gallbladder diseases.
It increases gall secretion, normalizes acidity of digestive juices, it helps fats assimilation. It is applied in the case of the diseases of mouth and ears. It assuages a pain in a swollen throat, cures oral cavity inflammation. Besides, bile is used for curing heart diseases, hypertension, and chills. In these cases it must be dissolved in bamboo juice. It helps healing skin wounds, raises immunity and is recommended for maintenance to persons who have undergone serious infectious diseases.
However, application of bear gall is not recommended to pregnant women or nursing mothers with liver diseases. It is also not recommended in the case of tuberculosis.
Average human liver excretes approximately 500 to 1000 milliliters (50 to 100 tablespoons) of bile each day. The main function of the gallbladder is to concentrate and to store bile. Bile, 50 - 100 milliliters is discharged from the gallbladder and from the bile ducts via the cystic duct into the common bile duct and then into the duodenum (the first part of the small intestine), where it begins to dissolve the fat in ingested food.
Bile is one of the most important of all liquids inside human intestines. Complete digestion is heavily dependent on bile, and not only the digestion of fats, but also the digestion of all foods that we eat.
Recently, it has been demonstrated that bile acids also function as hormones that bind to nuclear receptors and, through that mechanism, modulate expression of proteins involved in cholesterol homeostasis.

Bile is providing a healthy environment for intestinal flora. Most (95%) of the bile that has entered the intestines is resorbed in the last part of the small intestine (known as the terminal ileum), and returned to the liver for reuse.
One of the reasons for Bear’s bile effectiveness is the fact that it aids digestion. As digestion is the basis of human health … bile actually helps regain health.
Bear’s bile is widely used in Russia, China & Korea.
