Bodgy, I took my 1st dose of monolaurin last night. 1/5 of the scoop. My scalp got really itchy (an old symptom I had gotten rid of by reducing carbs) and my eyes got itchy. It sure sounds like an allergic reaction. I rub lots of coconut oil on my skin everyday w/o a reaction so I don't think I'm allergic. Not sure what's going on.- Re: Bodgy - monolaurin megghill

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,338,074sounds like die off...when i first started on the threelac i got very itchy...so possibly the symptoms you are experiencing is a good sign that it's killing off the yeast!

This is a reply to # 1,338,122Hey misscallie! Wow, that was a fast reaction. Are you doing anything for adrenal support? I also wanted to mention something just in case you hadn't come across it while researching the monolaurin. I know where I ordered mine from said that it was anti-fungal, antiviral and antiparasitic, but, on many of the autism message boards the parents were saying that monolaurin increased their childrens candida symptoms. Sort of like an Antibiotic would do to them. So I guess taking probiotics while doing it would be a good idea. Keep us up on how you're doing on it! Hope this itchy phase doesn't last too long for you. Bodgy

This is a reply to # 1,338,425Bodgy, could you give me the link of where you read that? Interesting. I wonder if it was pure lauricidin or a mfg of monolaurin, with perhaps some additives/fillers.

I'll see what I can find. You mean about the increase in candida symptoms right? Not the fact that monolaurin is anti-fungal,viral, and parasitic, right? I used pure lauricidin. The comments of increased "yeast" symptoms just came from parents of children with autism forums.(Not anything "official." This is a reply to # 1,339,040I wonder too if what the parents were interpretting as worsening of candida symptoms might have been die off. It's often difficult to tell the difference, as we well know.
I'm just very curious about lauricidin worsening symptoms, that would be a surprise.

This is a reply to # 1,339,053It sounds like die off to me (your experience). I take the max dosage (3 scoops) every day now with no die off. I'd continue, IMHO.

This is a reply to # 1,339,071Hi yes i just started this as well because of your post sickofhives, i am getting really bad symptoms on it myself. i just on one scoop.getting acid wee and blurry head.I am surpriced how much die off i am getting because been treating the yaets problem for years! This is a reply to # 1,340,114I'm getting bad symptoms too at just 1/2 scoop. It's effective against viruses, bad bacteria too. My understanding from Dr. Bruce Fife's book is that the lauric acid collects in the cytoplasm and the organism explodes. So,the symptoms make sense.

This is a reply to # 1,340,114As I posted I was taking lauricidin and zapping at the same time as well as other things, antifungals, etc. Hives is my worst symptom, but I do get brain fog, mostly at night before bed.
I think it's die off you're experiencing, but do what you feel is best, as we are all different.
Yes, I eat carbs, in the form of alternative grains, vegetables and nuts.
