There are various herbs that build up or support adrenal function. My favorites are schisandra berry, licorice root, ashwagandha, jiaogulan, and amla. Other great choices include astragalus, Siberian ginseng, suma, bee pollen, nettle leaf, and yucca root.
Nutritionally the most important nutrients for the adrenals are vitamin C and pantothenic acid. I prefer natural sources of vitamin C as they are stronger and more stable than synthetic vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Good choices include amla berry, watercress, nettle leaf, acerola cherry, rosehips, and berries. I don’t care much for camu camu due to stability problems.
The most damaging things for the adrenals are stress, stimulants like caffeine and nicotine, and steroids. So keep your stress levels to a minimum and stimulants and steroids should be avoided.
