Those who know me even vaguely, know that I spend every other weekend in baseball parks all over the southeast.
Year one, I got cooked. Then I started my holistic lifestyle. This year, while folks sat under stadium tents getting cooked, I sat behind homeplate in full sun all day, 2 days in a row. I wouldn't consider putting sunscreen on my body at this point, but I didn't get anything more than a pink that turned into soft tan over night. This, and I have a red-head for a daddy!
Sunburn is oxidation just under the skin. The sun heats these free-radicals and that's what burns you.
Eat good, include lots of fruits and superfoods that are high anti-oxidents. How can you tell which are which? "They" use to promote vitamins C, E, A as the antioxident vitamins. WRONG ANSWER. It's the phytochemicals that give foods their dark rich color. Include dark berries like blackberries, blueberries, goji berries ... have a teaspoon of cacao in a green smoothie on occassion. Even tomatoes have antioxidents, and have a gander at the color or some of those heirloom tomatoes in the store, so red they're burgandy!!!
