John McCain 2008
I am famous in town for my "Cash Paid" ads on CL in the antiques, collectibles, automobiles, and luxury goods category. My high end furniture buys are at the major upscale furniture stores where they cannot move furniture if their collective lives depended on it. They are taking 50% on the dollar...I did it last week on a whim. My living room looked very nice...but it was 9 years old. My wife and I were just strolling through a nicer store and she just had to have this complete leather living room set that was selling at Pottery Barn for $3800 couch alone! Add the big leather chair and coffee table, end table, and accent table...you've got around $6400. Everything for $3100 with tax included, free delivery thank you very much, and five matching pillows. Sold my furniture on CL in half a day's time, new furniture arrived in three days, bada-bing right in time for Thanksgiving guests to arrive. Only in America...
On CL, I run continuous "cash paid for..." ads in every category when I am looking for desperate folks needing to unload their treasures. And I have a continuous supply of anything I want. Bought a Mercedes sedan couple years back, sold it, on to the next. Buy paintings pre-estate, buy unique finds that stores do not sell any more on CL. I have out of state sellers send me product...I hit the jackpot on commercial equipment for my business. I buy commercial mowers that cost a typical $10K...I pay around $4500 each! Put an ad in Saturday for expensive string trimmers that typically run $350 each new...I'm buying two 2007 models tomorrow for $250 total! I've got a guy wanting to sell me a 1973 Roadrunner daily driver right now for $2500 just because he saw my CL ad and needed the dough. I bought a real signed Picasso poster off CL for $750 and had it submitted for the Sotherby's 2009 event for reserve of $9000! I like margins like that, don't you? Let's put it this way...I have made a mint off CL! Anyone out there that doesn't make money in every way imaginable, in every direction, every avenue...you're leaving money and your financial future on the table. I have financial "tentacles" reaching out at all times. When the mortgage biz slows, my contract and painting recovery biz explodes. Keep on top of the money, never let up, you will succeed. That's exactly what I do. There is no time to rest, I make money 7 days a week, at night while I sleep, in the morning in the afternoon in the evening.
