yes, this reeks of B.S. how many business owners would blindly get rid of people in their employ based on nothing more than political stickers? not many. most would base it on how important the person is to the performance of the business.

i would, however, like to point out to blckngld that your blanket characterization of republicans is part of the overall problem of red vs. blue states. republicans are people who care for others just like democrats. i think democrats really need to be reminded of that. i'm an independent and have no dog in this fight. but i do live in an area where you can't swing a dead cat without smacking a few democrats at once. the propaganda that their party puts out about republicans has made them fearful of religious folks and has poisoned their general attitude about republicans as people. maybe the right has done the same to others but of the few that i know, i haven't seen it. and yes, arrogance reigns in both parties.

but i bring this up to show a couple of points that i have noticed over the years and that helped turn me off to the democrats....

democrats firmly believe that republicans are not as smart as they are. otherwise, how could they vote the way they do?(there are hundreds of t shirts with this sentiment on them)

and

they will base their perception of a person not on the content of their character, but on party affiliation. (or if they are religious)


these two aspects of the democrat outlook tend to make republicans think that democrats are elitist snobs. and that they only care about themselves.

i imagine that democrats have beef with this. please inform me as to your views on republicans. i suppose if i lived in an area with lots of republicans, i might have a different view.

as an aside, i was recently in canada. while they are decidedly more liberal than americans, i didn't notice the same contempt for conservatives there. they just seem to be more accepting of EVERYTHING. which i really liked.

that reminds me. i just got this in my email today. i post it for the democrats reading this. it's really funny. (i'm sure it will make some republicans mad)
