This is slightly off-topic, but the timing is good. It was an email that came out today from www.Beliefnet.com:

Breathe Through Your Heart
Breathing is one of the simplest ways to transform energy. This is an exercise you can do throughout your day: Place your hands on your heart and feel your heart moving as you breathe. This is calming, and feeds the energy of love, peace, and harmony in the world.
Look In A Mirror
Before reacting to a challenging situation, try emoting as you watch your reflection in a mirror. No one wants to see herself acting out in a toxic way. You may feel silly, but don't let this stop you. Taking ourselves too seriously is one of the causes of negative thoughts.
Express; Don't Send
Stress can make us act in ways we might regret later on. It is OK to have problematic emotions, and it's important to acknowledge your feelings. Just be careful not to send the energy as a "poison dart" to yourself, others, or into the world.
Think Of A Favorite Face
The energy behind your emotions goes to all living beings. If confronted by someone who triggers problematic emotions for you, think of a loved one and impose his or her image on the face of the person challenging you. For example, you might work with the face of a baby, kitten, puppy, or your favorite flower.
Watch Your Words
Your words, like thoughts and emotions, have the power to change your experience and the world we live in. This applies to both the words we say out loud to others as well as self-talk. If you tell yourself that you're not a good person, you begin to manifest this reality. Fill your mind with positive words and this is how your life will unfold.
See Divinity In Others
Never pity others who you perceive as suffering--this only pushes them deeper into a hole. When you see people in their divine light and perfection you help give them the strength they need to deal with their troubles. Remember that your perception creates your reality.
Connect With Nature
We are a part of nature. When we are in a state of stress we are cut off from the nurturing we receive from the elements -- earth, air, water, and fire (the sun) -- and we can actually become ill. Nature is a great healer. Take time out and connect with the natural world whenever you can.
Work With Water
The life-force of water can wash away your pain, and the simplest activities can have a healing effect. As you wash your hands, take a shower, or stand in the rain, visualize negative energy flowing from you and being transformed into light.
Protect Yourself With Light
If you feel someone is psychically attacking you or being energetically hostile toward you, imagine a protective light surrounding you. Some people think of a white energy field; I imagine being enclosed in a translucent blue egg. Find a color that works for you. This will protect you from any harmful energies being sent your way.
Respond With Love
You do not have to be the receiver of negative and toxic energy from others. You can return the energy you don't wish to receive with love. Responding with love will prevent you from moving into attack position and creating more negative energy. It is only love that heals.

It would be nice to know your secret of how to be at peace with the world. My 12 year old son has to have to a heart scan at the hospital today so it is hard for me to visit the world serenity where you reside.

Thanks LivingBlessed. The scans and ECG etc all came out normal so my son's only affliction currently is his blindness so I am grateful for small mercies!
I don't have any religious beliefs but thank you for your prayers!

This is a reply to # 1,280,315Please, this is new-age hokum. This is in perfect opposition to my religious beliefs and is offensive. Now that we're a politically-correct, moderated forum, could you at least put an OT in the title or even better save it for a more appropriate venue.

Re' overuse of red R's........
I personally think that the "R" status was underused by previous moderators on this forum, and where this of course would be graded from one to three depending on what we think is a message that bears special attention.
Although Raine13's post may have been O/T she did state this in the introductory sentence of her post, and where I felt that most of the information contained within it deserved the attention of everyone. If you go through the post in detail it does smack of commonsense and a psychological/spiritual perspective of releasing these types of pressures and stresses and what someone here erroneously referred to as "new age" thinking.
I also think it can be refreshing and enlightening from the average post which usually only has a relevance to the physical aspects of the Water Fast and which also tended towards the spiritual side, which is indeed relevant to our forum.

This is a reply to # 1,281,663Agree, and besides, it's all a bit subjective, and one persons views may be different to another's, but in general I think it is much better to have a reasonable amount of red Rs than no red Rs. At least that will give new visitors some guidance to click on decent or half decent messages, rather than stumble across personal conflicts which do not give them any information whatsoever on water fasting.

This is a reply to # 1,282,235Usually the "R"s tend toward the the posts that you would want a new person to click on for the better information regarding the subject of the forum.
When a person that wants to educate themselves in a short time regarding the subject of water fasting, they're going to go to the recommended messages first if they know what they are doing.
Its up to the skill of the moderators to fill those areas with the messages that would do that.
In my opinion, seventy five percent of the posts there should be ChrisB's.

This is a reply to # 1,282,627There are 2 mods here, me and chrisb1. We don't normally mark our own messages as R by mutual agreement, though I would have no objection to chris doing his (he's just too modest!)
If anyone thinks any messages warrant an R, then click on alert good message (this can apply to old messages as well)
Also I may think a message looks good, but I have no idea if the content is accurate. If that's the case I just click on alert good message and let chrisb1 decide, as he has much more experience than me.
But remember I am away sometimes and may miss messages, ad may chris be. The system is far from perfect, but better than nothing.

Many water fasters find that they become more grounded, peaceful and connected to the world around them. So what your saying is that tolerating pedophilia is a sign of goodwill? How about tolerating murder? How about tolerating people saying stupid things?

So what you are saying is that pedophilia is not offensive to you? Greedy, corrupt, oppressive politicians aren't offensive to you? Ignorant people who don't argue with reason aren't offensive to you? Rape is not offensive to you?
Your post itself, although sounding so so positive, is basically a criticism. Therefore it is not tolerant.
TRUE TOLERANCE MEANS ABSOLUTE SILENCE.

The words I wrote were accurate.
Whether they were written with love or with intolerance is another matter. But that is something for me to be concerned about because I am the one who is going to receive the fruit of that.
I am far from perfect and to be honest I knew that my post would draw a response from you. And that is because one of us, or both of us, or someone reading this has something to learn.
To take offence will never allow your mind to become peaceful. And as long as you are not peaceful then there can never be peace in the world. We are all individually responsible.
Sin is simply a disturbance in the mind. This is the enemy. This is what we need to guard against.
I personally can’t eliminate rape and paedophilia from the world, and thankfully the role to try to do so has not been entrusted to me. So I will continue to tolerate it and save myself from sin.

Nobody can say anything stupid because everyone is simply expressing himself or herself as best they can at any given moment. To reprimand somebody for what you consider to be stupid can instil fear and inhibit a person’s ability to express freely. This is the road to hell.
