MoreI had my gall bladder removed in January 2002.After the op my recovery was quick.But over the last few months I have been experiencing the diahorrea and pain in my right side now the pain is spreading around to my back.I am getting very scared in case its now my liver!!!My mother passed from cancer of the liver she also had her gall bladder removed.I am going to try an Internal cleansing Detox program.If you have experienced the same as me and can reassure me Im ok I would be greatful.Thanks.- Re: Pain after Gall Bladder Removal #164526

MoreThis is a reply to # 127,691I too have been feeling yucky since my gallbladder removal and have been suffering from headaches for weeks on end. I too think my liver is stressing but have not done any cleansing program as of yet

Thanks for taking the time to answer me.I am still not feeling too great.Went to the doc yesterday and he took blood.Checking liver etc.Gave me some tablets to help stop spasms.I think its worse not knowing whats wrong dont you.I feel like I have no appetite and naseous most of the time.I have to wait until Tuesday for the results of the blood tests again its a waiting game. - Re: Pain after Gall Bladder Removal metoo

This is a reply to # 127,733Hi. I just had my gall bladder removed on 12/31/02. I've been having nausea before surgery, but it's the same after the surgery. My surgery was by laproscopic & the surgeon made it sound like a trip to the dentist. I won't see him until 2 weeks after. Is this normal? I still can't eat my usual portion & feel something's pressing my stomach constantly. Anyone out there know why & what to do?

This is a reply to # 127,916I had Laproscopic gallbladder removal last Wednesday after going to the emergency ward with severe pain and vomiting non stop for hours. I just had a baby a month ago, and this was the topping on the cake... mmm cake... wish I could eat that, but I can't eat a thing, since everythine I eat I get pains where I did before the surgery. I eat non-fat and low calorie foods, since I thought that would be best, but I still feel pain. I don't go for a checkup until Thursday (it's Tuesday), and my pain meds run out tonight! I'm not a happy girl. Plus I can't even pick up my baby, since she kicks me in the incisions and pushes on my abdomen. Anyone else feel this way? I see some of you do...

This is a reply to # 127,925I had laproscopic gall bladder surgery in July of 1999. I have had chronic diahrea ever since! I did see my surgeon several weeks after the surgery and mentioned the diahrea but he said that he can't believe it is happening because no one gets diahrea after this surgery. Well, the diahrea never went away. For the firsat few years I felt like I was in prision because I couldn't go to the grocery store without using the bathroom 2-3 times. I really can't even blame my diet because I eat a low fat diet of beans and rice and vegies. I must admit that teh diahrea has lessened. Now, almost 5 years later I don't feel like a prosioner and I ony have diahrea once a month or so.

This is a reply to # 127,929I also had my Gall Bladder out in may 2001 now two years after the op i feel worse than i did before i had it out. I had a scan and they decided the best thing was to remove it. I only had one really bad attack and when the doctor took it out he said to me ...yours is one of the worst galls ive ever seen... its a wonder you wernt sick more....now nearly two years later i feel as if there is a bubble of air under my right rib and there is constant pain..(not bad but if my husband puts his arm on me at night i have to move it__( im not going back to the quacks id rather live with the pain...on occassions iget really bad pain up my back and pains in the chest as well..ive had it with doctors they suck....

This is a reply to # 127,931Wow. It's like reading my own bio! I finally decided to have a second opinion on my chest pain and back pain. I went to my primary care physician whom I've been seeing since I was 12 (I'm now 28). He was SO angry that they removed my gallbladder. When I told him I had the laproscopic precedure done, he looked at me wide eyed and said "You let them do this to you"?! I told him they didn't give me any other options. I was in pain and they told me this was the only way. Of course NOW I know better after going on this forum a day after the surgery and reading up on the procedure. Overall he was disgusted that this happened and they didn't even tell me there were other ways. He believes in homeopathic doctoring. Needless to say he was angry with the hospital for not giving me the options, or telling me there were other ways for me to get around this. I had severe pancreatitus as well, and I told him I thought that maybe this was why they told me it had to be done. I don't know. Anyone else experiance this and now regret ever having the procedure done? I know a lot of people who do. My friend had her gall bladder removed last week, and she told me she can eat whatever and is fine. How come I have so many problems and it's been over 3 months since mine?! It's SO frusterating.

This is a reply to # 127,925I know how you feel- your story sounds alot like mine! I posted it on this website a while ago. I had alot of stomach pain until a few weeks ago I went into the heathfood store and the lady told me to take dophilus 3 times a day and papaya enzyme pills whenever I had an upset stomach and I feel like a new person. Before I was constanly in the bathroom and taking pepto-bismal which only ruined my stomach acid. You will feel better soon. You can get pain pills form the pharmacist if you ask for them and your not breastfeeding. I think its called acetaminophin with codeine. It takes a while for your body to get used to being without a gallbladder but trust me-if you go to the heathfood store and tell them what you are feeling they can help you.

This is a reply to # 127,935I am so glad that I found this site. I had my gall bladder removed one year ago and have been experiencing the same symptoms as alot of you. Just knowing that I am not alone and that I am not "dying" from some abnormalty resulting from the removal makes me feel alot better. I very much believe in the homeopathic approach and appreciate the info you gave there. Thanks again for your info. The anxiety from not knowing was as bad as the pain.

This is a reply to # 127,925i too had Laproscopic gallbladder removal..( 5 years ago).some of your episodes sounds like a piece of cake to mine, alhtough I know you are in pain...
Two days after surgery I was driving along and thought I was having a heart attack.the pain in my chest was excruciating and perspiration came off my forehead like rain.I did remember to hit redial on my car phone and let my son know i was on way to ER..they gave me baby aspirin by handful and did EKG . I followed this with 4 more tests , along with stress test.I aced it ...then my next appt at the VA they did same tests over..the Drs tell me I am having panic attacks.I am now on Lorazepam for my nerves, Rabeprazole for spasms in my rib cage ( they say it works in esophagus ) , oh yes and Nitro to pace my heart.....I have these atacks about ten times a week...
The first thing a friend of mine advised me to do was make sure if I ate lettuce to shred it fine...this I learned After my two episodes with salad...
I get such sharp pains under my rib cage and five minutes later I have to vomit....I have no life and it has ruined my social life too..
I will definitely stay with thi s forum and search with you for a cure for this type againy..God bless each and every one of you.

my gall bladder was removed in 1989. since then i have experienced pain under my right rib cage.i also experience flatulence like you wouldn't believe. i've had tests out the kazoo. then after i got sick from bacteria one year,the doc prescribed flagyl.along with healing my diareah,the flagyl relieved all my pain and flatuence. sad thing is that docs frown on giving Antibiotics . pain usually comes back a couple of weeks after i stop taking Antibiotics .
