It will always spoil, unless the commercial product is turned to an acid or uses a form of alcohol.

I prefer the bar soaps where food grade ingredients have been used and essntial oils of the highest medical grade.....sad thing is, most all people into making their own soaps, uses the cheapest ingredients possible.

I use only bar soap for hair and skin and the hair has no problems. I wanted to resale such soaps, but the price is much higher than normal bar soaps and I decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

as long as the clay comes from deep beneath the earth, i would have no problem using it. top soil clay is loaded with pollution and fall out chemicals.
