Seems like this is just a distiller with a carbon pre filter in it, but it is pricey. It seems like it would be cheaper to buy seperate carbon filter with a regular distiller. Did I miss something here? Any insight would be appreciated.

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,262,142carbon filter is not needed IMO...just something in the way...I removed it from my distiller....can't imagine why pure distilled water needs to be filtered
