That's a good visible test. The body will expel what it doesn't use. You would need to start with a benchmark examination of urine prior to beginning the test.

I think it would be even more interesting if there were a method to test the elimination of the other halogens due to the ingestion of iodine. I'm sure it can be done chemically; but I'd like to do it at home.

1st I put corn starch & tap water in 3 cups, then added 3 different forms of iodine:

Detoxified Iodine color = very light violet/purple

Iosol Iodine color = medium violet/purple

Lugols Iodine color = dark violet/purple

Then I painted my neck with 3 drops of Rising Sun Lugols, 45 min later urinated into a container with starch added...

results 0, no color change

I will test again later...if no results later than either my body utilized the iodine or I need to ingest the iodine to get some results.
