Im not sure if I posted this before or not, but anyway if I did Id like to update.
After suffering from asthma for most of my life and regularly for 22 years with it being quite severe over the last few, its all but gone. (Im almost 38 now.)
Last october I decided to cut out wheat, dairy, yeast, sugar, pig, beer, caffine, most processed food and a little later other meat, from my diet because I had decided that none of these foods were helping me rid myself of CFS. I also started to eat mostly fresh raw foods and juices. Pretty much over night my asthma dissapeared!
I have almost always been a so called healthy eater. I had a few years in my teens when I ate a lot of rubbish along side the good stuff, but I was raised on whole foods and have been mostly eating organic for a lot of years. Its amazing what effect small amounts of "bad" foods can have on you! I guess I drank beer fairly regularly though so I shouldnt totally kid myself.
Over all I do have more energy too physically and mentally! The diet change seemed hard at first but it becomes second nature.
I have experimented a couple of times over the last few months with reintroducing small amounts of these foods and I can safely say that dairy gives me asthma. There seems to be no safe amount, even just a very small piece of cheese can trigger it. It doesnt effect me immeadiatly but around a day / 24 hours later.
Im not sure about all of the other foods but I have come to the conclusion that sometimes it takes 2 factors to give me asthma. Ie - I could have a beer and not be effected. Or I could go into a smokey room and be perfectly fine. But if I had a beer and then go into a smokey enviroment I get asthma.
I still havent thrown out my ventolin but believe me its hardly been touched since last year!
