just a thought that might resonate for someone; In the tradition of the great fasters: Buddha, Jesus, and others, what place has 'attention'? Not swept to each twinge and stab, surely. So many feelings and sensations arise and pass away that a person would be dizzy and worn down utterly if they allowed the mind to be pulled into these tempests and small storms.
I don't think it's (merely) religious to take these words to heart: "If thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be filled with light." Centering attention in that single eye is like finding the anchor and resting there,
while all about there may be waves--or calm. I think this is something that fits very well with rest; lying-down rest; with the Water Fast as an opportunity to *see* in a different way; from inside -with a knowing that can never be lost- in a place that exists within and beyond the body--To see that it is not food that keeps this body alive, that gives it life, but an incredible Grace. A Grace Light.
And, that one *is* (also) that Grace Light.

You are that eternal light Chiron, and it’s possible to become so stable and so calm that when your karmic accounts are finished and it’s time to move on, you won’t even notice leaving that body.
A true spiritual path is not about amazing experiences or developing special powers, it’s about making yourself free from the influence of matter. Then you can be in the consciousness of an actor, totally untroubled by anything or anyone, and pain and suffering can’t touch you.
The main hindrances are your past memories, which have to be healed, your outstanding karmic accounts, which have to be settled, and your habits, which need to be changed.

This post of yours is right to the point. exactly.
I have heard (rightly so), and more importantly, learned that "all healing is healing from the past". In the Holy Moment there is no past, and as to whatever is to be accomplished, the doing is already done. Divine paradox! I've been thinking these past few months of those souls who move on and leave almost nothing of the body behind. (except a few relics for the ones still in physical form.)It amuses me that people are still looking for the "tomb" of Jesus, for example--when a little reflection would tell us he wouldn't have any need of a tomb...
DJ, I know I know who that is--remind me? And yes, it's ALL about making that time.
Such good advice. You sound like you are doing very well. Are you back to feeling genuine hunger, or still continuing on?
