Hi there,
I'm careful about how I use Psyllium, in that I make sure I drink LOTS of water after I take it. But, beyond that, I cured my asthma doing a fast using Psyllium, so I'm a believer.
The only case where one should heed caution with psyllium, is if you have extreme gluten intolerance. The celiac association (for what it's worth) says that psyllium does contain some form of gluten.
A woman who does
colonics in my area says she doesn't like psyllium, but I have to wonder if it might be because it does not add to her bottom line! You'll find that everyone has some opinion, and you just have to trust your wisdom and know your body.
Happy health,
KarenMarie
p.s. Be sure to use *whole* psyllium husks (they are ground, but the *whole* husk). Do not use psyllium husk powder or psyllium seed.
