I don't know why it's never occurred to me to mention this before, but for those of you who have gone to your doctor with your complaints of side-effects or are now seeing doctors for the same reason, only to be told that the Mirena is not the cause, go to the mirena website. Click on "Physician Information" to read the pamphlet printed for the doctors who put these IUD's in. Besides listing all our most common side-effects under the more severe adverse reactions, there are also many of us for which this device would be contraindicated. Those with history of ectopic pregnancies, severe menstrual cramps, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, bleeding between periods, those who have never had children or are breast feeding. Also, for those of you who suffered perforation of the uterus, having this device inserted while you are breast feeding increases the chance of perforation. IF THE DOCTORS TELL YOU OTHERWISE, PRINT THE pdf UP AND TAKE IT TO THEM, 'cause they're full of it!
