I have a PUR pitcher and like the way it makes water taste. I have not used it in a while because I got a home distiller and still on occasion haul gallons of Culligan water home. The main thing to remember with the charcoal filters is to keep the filters changed regularly. Tests have shown that harmful bacteria can thrive on organic compounds caught in the filter.
For me home distilled water is best, followed by RO water, then commercial steam distilled water (because when packaged in the wrong kind of jug can leach toxins from plastic, the filtered water. in my area, almost anything is better than the local tap water. It actually makes me nauseated when I have to drink it.
