Just wondering who all here has gotten a biopsy before. What were your results? I'm still waiting to hear back on my results but I will post what my doctor tells me. I'm still doing the hyrdrocortisone cream, and now i'm using a topical antifungal.- Re: Biopsies montrealhomegrown

This is a reply to # 1,158,686Ive read the biopsies only show irritation to the lips, both creams show little to no results.
If I were you id stop using the creams, they haven't worked on anyone so far..
You could always try out melatonin, CF says its working for him and posted a pic that showed results.

Biopsy is a waste of time & money and most importantly "hope". Doctors who advocate biopsy either don't know how to cure ec or they simply want to make a deep hole in your pocket. When Doctors fail to find the cause for ec and prescribe %¤#&!§-steroid ointments or worse "a biopsy" instead proves the point that they know absolutely nothing about ec....I have completely lost faith in Modern medical Science and would never recommend it to any body. am currently under ayurveda and keeping my fingers crossed...

It is hard to tell. Once the skin falls off on it's own the lips look very normal. The skin keeps on growing back though. I'm thinking about buying some melatonin cream. One of my mom's friends says fixing inflammation can take 6 weeks or longer, especially if the inflammation is deep in the tissue. This is a reply to # 1,159,505It does take a while if the inflamation is deep.
I think I had a biopsy when i was younger but back then
medicine was much worse than it is now. I think all that biopsy really
said was moderate chronic inflamation.
I will try to dig up those records.

This is a reply to # 1,159,525Did the biospy leave a scar on your lip at all? The stitches are a little painful but nothing too bad. There is just a small black scab from the blood/stitches.

This is a reply to # 1,159,881No. I dont have a digital camera. I think the scar is worse than the actual lip peeling because some days my lips are ok but the scar looks bad every day. I can still see the cut line where the stitches were and theres a lump of scar tissue. The scar makes my lips look lopsided. What really makes me mad is right before the biopsy I asked the doctor if it could leave a scar and he said no and then when I went back months later to show him I still had a scar he's like "Well of course it left a scar. We cut you open didnt we. You gotta expect that."
