MoreThis is a reply to # 1,154,982ACV is acid forming, it does not alkalize the gut. Acid kills candida, alkalinty will spread candida. This is a major confusion that many people have. This is not related to urine of saliva ph. Acids in the intestines kill candida, alkalinty in the intestines causes candida or worsens it!

This is a reply to # 1,155,070Well then I AM confused. I understood that an alkaline environment suppresses candida.
Why then does eating acidic foods worsen candida symptoms if acids are supposed to kill it?

This is a reply to # 1,155,467I used to be completely confused Candid and the acid/alkaline balance too. But, as far as Candida is concerned, acid is what keeps it in check (think acidolphilus=lactic acid production=low yeast levels). Eating acid foods don't worsen and alkaline enviroment doesnt suppress it that is false.
The simple fact is that as far as ph goes, acid kills alkaline helps it grow, sugar and carbs feed it, acid and alkaline foods react with it and can cause or modify symptoms.
