I've called a couple of places that used to sell Lugol's, who now claim because of some new government "law" they are no longer able to sell, and I am no longer able to buy, without a permit. Personally I feel this is big brother trying to keep the masses from helping themselves, but I digress....

Anyway. Is there any place to find 5% Lugol's cheaper than jcrow? No offense meant to you jcrow, but I'm in school and make very little money right now and must find the cheapest 5% I can.

Any ideas?

The 16 ounce 2% of jcrows is about the best I can find. For smaller amounts this site is ok.

You might save $5 by getting some intended for aquariums.


The best way would be to make your own. You need Potassium Iodide and Iodine. Their are several recipe's. I have been able to find Potassium Iodide but the element Iodine is much more difficult to get.

just looked at jcrows website. I bought my first oz of I from him, over a year ago...for $9.95. Now it's $19.95.
