I have been experiencing acid reflux for 3 years. I have LPR to be exact. The acid doesn't stay in my espohagus long enough to give me heart burn. It splashed into my throat. I have been on all medications from Zantec to prilosec to nexium, as well as, carafate to coat my stomach. I also experience naseau if my stomach is empty. I sometimes experience naseau even after I eat. Last year I was was extremely stressed and started experiencing a burning tounge. I have had several endescopes within the last couple of years, which shows a mild gastritis. I also had an emptying of stomach series, which showed that my stomach emptied at approx. 63% on solid foods, perfect on liquids. I had a gallbladder test three years ago, which was negative. I thought I had burning tounge syndrome from my symptons. The burning gets increasingly worse during the afternoon hours and night. I am currently on 40mg 2x a day of nexium and I am still burping after meals. I am assuming the acid is coming up and hitting my throat as well. My doctor doesnt feel that I need another endescope, due to the many scopes I had in the last two to three years. A couple of months ago my throat burned, but it feels like it is getting worse now. Sometimes it burns when I am not even eating. I also have scoliosis and a mild peripheral neuropathy on my lower extremeties (legs). I was wondering if this is where the burning is coming from. I am so aniety ridden from the constant burning, and can't understand if I am being treated with nexium why I am still experiencing the burning. The burning calms down when I am sleeping and my tounge doesnt burn in the early morning. It usually starts to burn in mid morning, afternoon and evening. I feel as if I am going out of my mind. I was going to try probiotics to see if this helps any. I modified my diet to only eating fish, chicken, vegetables and fruit (no citrus). I eat kashi cereal in the morning and try to eat little snacks during the day. I only drink water during the day.
I have spoken to my chiropractor about this problem thinking it may be stemming from my scoliosis and my bulging disks. I am at wits end. I have a couple of things going on with me from neuropathy, to scoliosis, etc. so I can't pinpoint where the burning tounge is coming from. It actually feels as if I ate too may spices and that is why the tounge burns. This all started when I was going into menopause. I often think menopause caused all of this. I understand that there is a test to take
to see what viatmins or minerals may be missing from my diet. One of the vitamin shops near my home conduct this type of test. My doctor prescribed align probiotics
if the nexium doesn't work. Did anyone hear of this probiotic? Helpless in Florida
