I was curious if you have the file on
the Heimlich Maneuver?? None of the links
in the newsletter work for that procedure
and yet it is one I would love to share
with friends as it is something everyone
should know but MANY do not. I have used
it personally 3 times in my life on others
and consider it incredibly important to
teach those around you. Also, at a dinner
party, I once choked on a sip of water
and someone understood my sign language,
and did the maneuver on me~!

One time, one of my friends had taken some
vitamins and had gotten one stuck in his
throat. His nephew was with him but did not
know the Heimlich Maneuver, even though he
was a grown adult, and as his uncle was
turning blue, he finally had done about
everything including shaking him upside down
to dislodge the vitamin when it finally
popped out and my friend was saved from
choking to death. Afterward, his nephew said
he wished he had known this and I showed him
what to do. It is also a mistaken idea that
a choking person will make choking sounds.
Often there is absolutely not a sound. Once
I was sitting in a temple full of people.
I had been listening to a child singing and
running through the temple trailing a long
strand of ribbon behind him. It made me smile.
I also was in reverie, but then suddenly the
child became quiet and I looked up. I could
see an etheric red band about 12 inches wide
around the child's neck and he had his hand
to his throat. I leaped up and ran to him
and by this time others were disturbed that
I had grabbed this child up in such a way
that they were distressed by me but still
unaware of what had happened. I put my free
hand up and they allowed me the 10 seconds
it took to do the Heimlich Maneuver and when
the piece of candy the child had been sucking
on came flying out of his mouth and he set
to crying loudly, then it dawned on the people
around us the serious of what had happened.
