Fiber is one option, but too much fiber isn't necessarily the answer. Sometimes fiber can be irritating to intestines that are already messed up. I can try it again, but usually what happens is that if it's certain foods, it comes out undigested, the way it looked after I carefully & slowly chewed it up. If it's psyllium, it's made my BMs bigger, but it hasn't addressed the long-term problem (I'm not going to take psyllium forever, either).
Undigested fat can make stools float, too, but of course, they don't look as "fluffy" usually.
