I have to agree that Sugar is detrimental to the body in many ways, especially for someone like me, a type 1 diabetic. I am on my second master cleanse, and I simply omit the maple syrup unless my blood Sugar falls too low as insulin sensitivity increases while fasting. I get wonderful results without the added simple sugars. Not trying to tell anyone what to do, just offering a diabetic point of veiw.

Too much Sugar will make you fat, for example if your butt is too big it will hang off the edge of the furniture. Proper use of the furniture should be made so as not to break it. LOL!

Everyone's body needs sugar, your body uses it for energy. maple syrup used in the Master-Cleanse is used for energy although at the maximum recommended it's still only 1,200 calories. So, your body burns body fat to make up the difference for energy needs. Also, maple syrup isn't as acidifying as other sugars because of the mineral content.
