No one should be denied access to life saving medical treatment, however, the present system of government welfare and insurance that rewards poor lifestyle and health choice and forces us into a system of managed illness and dependence on subsidized insurance and welfare is not the answer.
If government handouts and insurance were not around, mainstream medicine and Big Pharma would not survive. What we need is a system that promotes prevention and healthy lifestyle as well as promotes access to nature - one that rewards healthy lifestyles and provides disincentives for choosing sedentary and unhealthy lifestyles.
Just my two cents - but methinks it is two cents that would save billions of dollars and millions of lives.
