I read here that some people add a drop of Oil of Oregano when oil pulling. Since I had tea tree oil at home I tried adding a drop of it instead. Quite nice, I like the taste. I used to massage it into my gums when they were sore, it really helped.

MoreThis is a reply to # 109,860I read somewhere that tea tree oil is good to add to a mixture for irrigating. I think I'll try it as well.

This is a reply to # 109,860This morning I added tea tree oil to my mixture of oil & oil of oregano. It wasn't bad. I didn't notice any improvement or mind shattering develops. What did happen, though, was when I spit it out, I started retching. That's only happened to me once. I think I'll just use the tea tree oil to massage my gums 'cause I don't like to hurl, lol.

This is a reply to # 109,882Sorry you had this experience!How much tea tree oil did you use? I use only one or two drops. I wonder if mixing two very strong oils, oregano and tea tree, is a bit much....
In any case, your body is telling you that it does not like it, so you made a wise choice. I used to have similar exoeriences with the olive oil and lemon juice mix for liver flushing, until I switched to a different oil and then was fine.- Re: Oil Pulling and Tea Tree Oil ggsnail

I tried to only put in what I thought was one or two drops but my bottle doesn't have a dropper so I had to pour it in. Maybe I got more in there than I bargained for, lol.
I think that I absorbed some of the tea tree oil. I didn't swallow any of it but I burped the taste up about 2 hrs. later.
I think that tea tree oil may be a little too strong for this.
I'm going to do my first Liver Flush this weekend. What kind of oil did you use?

This is a reply to # 109,914Yes, all you need is one tiny drop of tea tree oil...
For my first 5 flushes I dutifully used extra virgin olive oil, but soon my body wanted nothing to do with it, talking about gag reflex....
Then I felt more confident and experimented, found almond oil to be most pleasant! Also walnut oil, as long as you get it fresh; I also used 1/3 - 1/2 of grapefruit juice instead of using only lemon juice with the oil. Have an ounce of your favorite juice ready to immediately down it after the flush mix, (gets the taste of oil out of the throat)and a mouth rinse with baking soda. Flush results were just as good!
