Thought I'd give this a try if you don't mind.

I would say that you were/are experiencing some inner conflicts connected to your personality associated with friends and/or family. You need to resolve these, but not change who you are. Once you resolve these inner conflicts you will be much happier. I would say you desire to resolve these conflicts in a positive manner since you are/need to seek help outside your normal sphere of associations. I would say the key to resolution was in the numbers. That is, diplomacy and vision. There is also the number 5, which entails adventure.

Being happy may be a compensatory dream and is often a dream of the contrary. You may be trying to compensate for the sadness or stress in your waking life.

Let's look at this dream.

You walk into a restaurant.
You are mobile and in movement. This indicates you are in control or command.

A restaurant indicates food, and nourishment. It's also possibly indicates preference,
like an "ethnic" restaurant, but portrayed here in a more emotional (intellectual?) way.

There, at a 'cafe' table, you see the 'man of your dreams'.
Your use of the word cafe table invokes in me a picture of a small round table.
One that would be perfect for two people, but not so supportive of a larger group. (3? or more?)

You also assign him qualities; Handsome, Kind and Generous. hmm 3 of them.

He offers you 3 of something....
Here I wonder if the qualities you see in him are what he's offering.

You Thank him and graciously accept 2.
This could indicate a lack of greed on your part.
Conversely, it could indicate a sense of unworthiness?
Or perhaps a sense of priority,
of what is really important or essential to you.
Of the three qualities that you assign him, which do you feel you can do without?
Or which are you willing to let Him carry?

The two of you are very happy together.
To me this statement says it all.
